On holidays in Patong, Thailand and for the first time in all my travels I feel like just another tourist. For a week we were booked into a hotel. We were picked up from the airport and taken to our accommodation. A porter took our bags to our room and there was little thought to where we had to go and how to get there. Once at the hotel we just had to be tourists and go site seeing. returning to our hotel at the end of the day to chill and relax.
Power For The Build
Connecting power is an important step. If you don’t have power it makes it so hard to get anything done, especially if you’re trying to build a house. At the moment I don’t have power so everything I do, building wise has to be done with the few cordless tools I have. So far it’s been okay, I’ve managed to do what I need to do with what I’ve got. These are the people of the Otway ranges and the surrounding coast. They care about the environment, they care about the forest. The Otway ranges and the beautiful coastline has a deep meaning to the people here. This is the kind of place where you walk in to someone’s house and find candles and crystals on the shelf. The people here are a little spiritual, they’re a little green. The people here are my people. Continue reading “These Are My People”
My head constantly swims with ideas of different things I want to do or try. Constantly changing it can be difficult to stay focussed on one idea as thoughts come and go. I always seem to have some crazy idea going through my head. At times my kids have worried about some of the crazy ideas I come up with. This is my bucket list, these are the things that have always stayed in the pool of ideas. These are the things I’ve wanted to do for a long time.
Sitting in a café with my beautiful daughter this afternoon, I spotted these acorns calling out to me. They needed a home, calling out to be planted, to be given a chance to be something great. So I put them in my pocket and took them home. Rather than letting them decompose slowly in a café garden bed. One of these little acorns will be given a new chance at life, just like its new companion and carer. Continue reading “Planting My Roots”

Going back to when Tara first showed an interest in horses and started riding, everything was horses, she just loved horses. Before I separated we had a piece of land and someone offered us a horse, well we got offered a couple but the first one came from friends of ours who had a small pony sitting in a paddock which no one did anything with, and when we stayed with them TT would spend most of her time with this horse, Pocket. They suggested we take him home, so I put it to the EX, “no” was the response. I reassured TT I’d keep working on it and eventually “no” became “if you want but I’m not looking after it, I want nothing to do with it”. Continue reading “A Girl and Her Horse”
